Trunk N Treat

WHAT IS TRUNK N TREAT? - Trunk N Treat is our annual October 31st celebration held in our parking lot.  Everyone is invited and encouraged to dress up in their favorite costume as we open our trunks and hand out treats to the children of our community.

WHAT TYPICALLY HAPPENS AT TRUNK N TREAT? - A group of our members park their cars backwards in a semi-circle in our parking lot, pop open their trunks, and hand out goodies to anyone that visits us that night between 5:30 and 7:30.

WHAT TYPES OF GOODIES WILL BE GIVEN OUT? - In 2009 we gave out balloons, toothbrushes, fun flossers, issues of Guideposts magazine, Our Daily Bread devotional books, New Testament Bibles, Bible tracts, pencils, stickers, bookmarks, and lots and lots of candy.

WHAT ELSE HAPPENS AT TRUNK N TREAT? - I'm glad you asked.  We also give out door prizes at random and hold a chili cooking contest.  Last year we gave away books by Francine Rivers, Lee Strobel, and Rick Warren.  In addition, we gave away gift cards/certificates to many different local restaurants.  Also handed out two tickets to a minor league baseball game!  As for the chili, everyone in attendance is invited to have a taste of each chili and vote for their favorite.  The winning chili will receive a prize for their efforts.

HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED? - We need you in many ways.  First of all, we need candy to be donated.  Feel free to donate money for the purchase of candy or bring the candy to the church office.  Second, we need your chili.  There's no chili contest without the chili.  Third, we need people willing to park their car and hand out goodies to the kids.  Fourth, we need help with door prizes.  Do you have a contact or are you a contact that could provide a door prize?  Clearly, we need you!  There are so many ways you can help.  Please pitch in wherever you are able.

WHO DO I CONTACT WITH QUESTIONS OR COMMENTS? - The coordinators of Trunk N Treat are John and Darci Engle.  You may contact them at
johnengle123@yahoo.com or call the church office.

Thanks for your interest in Trunk N Treat.  Looking forward to another great year of community outreach in 2010!
